Does anyone know of a sabot like the Remington Accelerator, but for firing a .264 out of a .308.
I ordinarily use my .264 projectiles in my Remington 700 chambered in 6.5x284 Norma. I like how they shoot a lot, of course, but I've got something like 1200 .264 cal, 140 grain projectiles (full boxes of Hornady A-Max i picked up in an estate sale haul) and kind of want to see what kind of performance I can get out of those projectiles (with that sweet .585 G1 ballistic coefficient) in one of my semi-auto LR-308 rifles. I bet they'd shoot pretty flat compared to a comparable mass .30 cal.Maybe he watched shooter and wants to pop something with a used bullet and doesn't trust paper patching. LOL!
Swapratt is my go to….where ya at?
Out near Elk City
I have a hundred rounds of 30-06 sabots using a .22 projectile and I think a hundred or so of the sabots to reload new rounds. The 55 grainers weren’t very accurate, so bought the sabots alone to try some heavier bullets, but haven’t gotten around to making up any loads yet.Your post jogged my memory. I have some Remington “Accelerator” (shown in a Federal sleeve) rounds leftover from the 80’s.
