How are you releasing the slide to chamber the first round? Sling shot or depressing the slide lock?
Tried both.

While we are on 1911s, the other day I went to carry mine even though I have not gotten to fire it yet. Soon I hope.
When I tried to chamber the first round it hit bottom of the feed ramp and stuck. Rest of the rounds fed just fine. I am thinking magazine has an issue but I guess it could be feed ramp. What do you folks think?
I know the 2nd mag that came with it has a dent in the front. I have not tested the new 10rd mag I bought yet but will soon as I get a chance.
A 1911 shouldn’t be malfunctioning due to an unpolished feed ramppolish that feed ramp

Try a wilson combat magazine. That is what I was thinking but glad an expert agreed. I think it is the magazine since anytime I have had trouble with a 1911 or 1911 based copy it is usually the mag.
Try a wilson combat magazine.

OK I had a chance to mess with them some more. With a tiny bit of file work the 2 original mags will now load the first round by using the slide release. I found a few burs under the feed lips. The Mecgar mag I bought works perfect. When I can sell more stuff I will probably buy a few more good mags instead of grips or holsters.
