Are we really arguing over whether the State should pay for contraceptives?
Are we really arguing over whether the State should pay for a pill that allows people to have a voluntary pleasurable activity with 96% less risk of having a child?
Again a VOLUNTARY activity and a non-necessary drug.

This should be a non-issue really. The fact that mainstream Republicans are even addressing this issue with anything but incredulity is telling of the state of "conservatism".

The problem is that it is not the State paying for it, the tax payer is, against the personal beliefs of many of them.

You do know that lots of plans pay for Viagra, right?

What's the diff?

Private insurance policies themselves aren't in question here. What is in question is the State mandating a private company provide coverage for a non-essential drug, which, only rarely, is actually used to prevent anything other than a child.

RickN...The State's money and taxpayer money is synonymous. You can't have the State without the taxpayer.

That part is true, but they like to use the "state money" crap to coverup that it is actually every body that pays taxes paying for something they may not believe in.

What is in question, is the state mandating that we all purchase insurance for a non-essential drug, which, only rarely, is actually used to prevent anything other than a child. The only reason that companies are leading the fight against this mandate is because they can afford to.
