It is not illegal to carry concealed in a place that has gunbuster signs, unless it is a government building. If just a regular business and they find out that you are carrying all they can do is ask you to leave, if you refuse to leave they can have you arrested for trespassing

THIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Is so true, why some people worry about it. The manual states this, I really don't care if the worst thing that happens is the business owner asks me to leave, I would happily leave and take my business elsewhere. AND I would make sure they knew it!

By unstable I mean not normal. She met a guy on the internet, he swindled her out of thousands of dollars, she met another guy on the internet, he started threatening her which prompted her gun toting. She has random days where she runs out of the office in tears for some reason or another, she has pulled me aside on several occasions and asked me questions like whether or not we (as in IT) can see what she is saying to other people via IM and all sorts of other things. She gets upset really easily but it usually ends up in her crying.

I've had my CCW for a couple of years.

The fact that She chose to start carrying when a guy threatened her is a more a sign of prudence than instability.

The rest: I'd say she's more of a dingbat than unstable.

It wouldn't be PC to opine on the tears on random days so lets not go there.

FWIW I don't think there's a real issue. But as G2G says prudence is always warranted.

I asked how long you have had your CCW because there are a very few brand new too it that tend to see monsters hiding in every shadow. You don't seem to fall within that category though.

I had a female foreman years ago that acted similarly. Out of the blue, she would fall into the floor and curl up in the fetal position and cry. The scary thing was, she was a foreman at an ammo base where we rebuilt 105mm munitions, so there were plenty of explosives around to create havoc with. By the way, this was not in the state of Oklahoma.

I do IT work for many companies, one of which is a pretty good sized company downtown. There are a couple of employees there that are pretty unstable and one is known to keep a firearm close due to a previous stalker she had from an internet relationship. Whoa, right? It gets better. Over the past several weeks the unstable one has not been doing very well at the office and blaming it on computer issues. Her superiors then call/email/IM me to ask me what the deal is, at which time I inform them that it most definitely was NOT her machine and the server was NOT down all weekend as she told them. She's been written up a few times for it. So yesterday the CIO of the company calls me and says "we need you to be on site Thursday at 8am to do some 'account maintenance'". In other words, we're going to fire someone. He says its going to be her and another and asked me what i thought her reaction would be. My first response was, "you know she carries a gun right?". At any rate, I'm pretty much responsible for her being canned and her office is right next to the IT office. The company is worried enough about it that they have hired a plain clothes armed security guard to pose as a consultant working with the office manager for the next two weeks. The plain clothes guy will be at the front however, not the entrance that is close to our offices. Go figure.

I have yet to work a deal on a conceal carry piece, so I am a little nervous to say the least. I am hoping to work a deal on something tonight, but still looking for the right deal.

What do you guys think? Cause for concern or not? What would you do in my situation? I'm pretty sure she has no idea its coming.

Pack up an AR pistol...

Sorry guys! One of the terminations went down with little more than some yelling. The employee they were worried the most about actually called in today, so they called her and fired her over the phone, which worries me a bit because now she has to come in tomorrow to get her personal belongings already knowing she's been canned. Anyway so far so good and YES i got a great deal on a nice pistol last night and can't say thanks enough! Glock 27 with night sights, holster, 3 mags and he even threw in a box of corbons after reading my post so i'd have something to carry in it tomorrow. All for $400.....I love this forum!

Sad situation. Prudence was and is advisable, unsafe to generalize with even firsthand information. That said, generally victim mentalities will cling to life and freedom as long as they can whine. You probably have nothing to worry about, buy who knows?

Good luck. Don't let this be life changing for you. CB

isnt a ar pistol to long to be legal for ccw

Here's the only reference I can find in the OK SDA regarding size...

TITLE 21 § 1290.6. Prohibited ammunition
PROHIBITED AMMUNITION
[FONT=Times New Roman,Times New Roman][FONT=Times New Roman,Times New Roman]Any concealed handgun when carried in a manner authorized by the provisions of the Oklahoma Self-Defense Act, Sections 1 through 26 of this act, when loaded with any ammunition which is either a restricted bullet as defined by Section 1289.19 of Title 21 of the Oklahoma Statutes or is larger than .45 caliber or is otherwise prohibited by law shall be deemed a prohibited weapon for purposes of the Oklahoma Self-Defense Act. Any person violating the provisions of this section shall be punished for a criminal offense as provided by Section 1272 of title 21 of the Oklahoma Statutes or any other applicable provision of law. In addition to any criminal prosecution for a violation of the provisions of this section, the licensee shall be subject to an administrative fine of Five Hundred Dollars ($500.00), upon a hearing and determination by the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation that the person is in violation of the provisions of this section.

.45 Caliber is max caliber. No mention of any length prohibitions though the above does specify HANDGUN. If the AR Pistol qualifies as a handgun using BATFE definitions it should be OK since there's another part of OK gun law that says if it isn't covered by OK law then the fed gun law applies.
