...We get it, they dont.

Final though: Never underestimate the predictability of stupidity.

An excellent and well thought out post if one assumes that the anti-gun crowd's goal is to reduce crime.

But it isn't. They're useful idiots of the political class whose goal is to grab power and more control over the people.

Gun Control is about people control not crime control.

Brady Bunch is not anti-gun; that's a riot. They are THE premier anti-gun, anti-rights blissninny hoblophobe gun-grabbing group in the USA.

But it isn't. They're useful idiots of the political class whose goal is to grab power and more control over the people.

Gun Control is about people control not crime control.

Doesn't matter what a person assumes. In debate, invalidate their reason, expose their cause for what it is. You go up against one in a public forum, and argue "you just want to control people" without any other argument, you'll lose.

Emotions, emotions, emotions... blah, blah, blah...

Screw history and mankind's inclination to kill one another or government's track record of crushing individual's Liberty.

I think Ayn Rand's quote about the only power a government has over men is the power to make law. Make enough laws and everything becomes illegal and thus the government controls every potential behaviour of those who choose to follow the law. Those that choose not to follow the law get locked up. In either case, control is the end result.

Law makers not making laws is an oxymoron. they feel useless if they aren't doing it and whether they're doing it with good intentions or ill is irrelevant. They're doing it and laws are all about control.

Gun control is just one aspect of that and as I said the anti's are just useful idiots of the political class. Antis press an agenda that is easily believed by those unwilling or unable to grasp the consequences of the antis emotion based, statistically biased and illogical and easily refuted arguments. If the political class didn't support the antis they'd disappear pretty darn quick.

It seems that currently more and more Americans are waking up to the falacious arguments that the antis use and as their numbers increase the political class will eventually abandon their surrogate useful idiots and move on to support another group of useful idiots.

All in an effort to control the people. For their own good or not. It is still all about control.

I agree completely. However, you gotta beat them at their game. If the supporting statements for their proposed policy is invalidated, the more they have to fabricate false data. The more you invalidate their false data, the more they look like babbling idiots.
