I worked with an English major and he was correcting people on their pronunciation.
He would quickly go to his office and prove you wrong by looking up the correct way in the Websters dictionary.
One day we were all going out for gyro sandwiches and i called it gyro like it looks, like a helicopter gyro.
He corrected me and off we went to his version of websters and webster said I was right and his geeroo pronunciation was wrong.
He got all bent out of shape. HA! here is an Indian pronouncing it.
Here is an American pronouncing it.

Just to clarify, you say IT WAS NOT HERE ON OSA? Man, it's your stuff and all, but please don't lump OSA into that trash pile. Now, if it happens here, please let me know. I revived the pay it forward section, and I am proud of it. People here have done right by each other and I want it to stay that way. Dammit.
