Bank of America is after me on a credit card balance. I am beligerantly ignoring them.
At age 72 scraping by on social security I really am not threatened by having negative crap on my credit score. After covid killed me, I quit caring about credit cards and credit scores.
Not likely to start caring anyime soon.

I had a kid in college get in some debt due to the CC companies pursuing students like the devil and handing out cards like candy. Eventually they will sell it to some other collection sweat shop for .50 on the dollar. Or something like that.

That could also be a bankruptcy firm trolling for customers. Lots of scams going around though. Mrs. Zap just got the "missed jury duty" call from "TCSO". She asked him if it was a scam and he got downright offended!

She told him she was going to call me and put him on hold. Oddly enough, he hung up. I'm PRAYING for the day one of those oxygen bandits calls me with that one!

She is still SOOOPER PIZZED. Her exact words were "He was really mean"!

Setting on my Iphone sends all calls not in my contacts directly to voice mail where I get a notification of it, but the phone never rings.

That pretty much used to be my philosophy as well. But I got a call one day from a New York number and on a whim, I went ahead and answered it. Turned out it was a call from a company there that was contracted with one of my doctors to verify appointments and ask for confirmation.

So now, all my doctor's offices are now in my contact list.

When do they become uncollectable?

After the statute of limitations expires. In Oklahoma it's 5 years.
