As mentioned, Ithaca made a single shot lever rifle with a falling block style action, the Model 49. It was a popular "boy's" rifle in the '60s and early '70s, and had a faux tube magazine under the barrel to make it look like a real lever gun. The Model 49R (for "repeater") was much less common. It had the typical lever gun tube magazine under the barrel. I got a single shot 49 for my eighth birthday (a pawn shop find my dad brought home), now long gone (it went back to the pawn shop before I reached my teens).Nice find. Didn't Ithaca also make a single shot lever action in .22?
