Does everyone facebook except me?

Nope...

You're not alone.

I've heard and read that facebook is the number one site on the planet for one to pick up malware or a virus.

Soooooo...
As an experiment I googled:

facebook malware virus - 5,690,000 results

virus facebook - 25,200,000 results

malware facebook - 10,900,000 results

facebook sucks - :burnout:thing wouldn't take... faded out - wierd

facebook blows - 7,900,000 results

Draw your own conclusions.

No facebook for me.BTW,there may be 1.2 million Okies signed up but most are inactive or barely active I suspect.I know several people that fit that description.

I'm a member on Facebook specifically so that people can send me friend requests, which I then ignore forever, thereby causing them an undetermined level of angst and feelings of societal rejection! :D

Though by exercising - what is that word we us? - ah, vigilance! and common sense, it can be pretty innocuous. Stay away from the stupid applications, don't click "like" on everything you see, don't post your every move on your status, make sure the security settings are enabled, and (the biggest!) exercise discretion on who you "friend" on the darn thing! I also go through and "untag" any photos of myself on there that other may have posted.

It also blows my mind when I see people posting every picture of their children and their page is a running commentary of the life of their kid. My wife does this from time to time and I get on to her for it. I feel that children often have their privacy violated by their parents when they get too active with all the posting and updating.

Probably the same group of people that create or join a group whining every time facebook makes a change to their site or layout.

I remember before there were even status updates.

Anyway, on the google thing. Is it warning you that you can never delete the contacts, or warning you that the contacts can't ever be downloaded back out from Facebook?

It's part of the ongoing battle between Google and Facebook. The launch of Google Me is expected soon...
