Check the very back of the chamber. Some 22s, if dry fired a lot, will hammer a burr in the back of the chamber where the firing pin hits. Matter of fact in the old days they used to list a "chamber iron" to deburr this type of failure. It looked just like a cone on a bent rod for a handle. Look at the back of the chamber. I have a rifle that will do this exact thing if dry fired. I bet that's what wrong. I used a small round file to get rid of the burr. Hope it's that. If so it's an easy fix!

Don't you just hate those burrs in the hole- I had a M1 Carbine that had that trouble - I kept thinking this is a military weapon and there is no reason for it to not feed, but it sure would not until I finally got it looked at and lucky the smith was a retired armory guy for the federal prison here where they had some of them back in the old days.

Looks fine to me...what do you think?
It's not having any trouble chambering the first round. It just won't extract it after it's fired.
