You just need two books:
"Burn the Fat, Feed the Muscle" by Tom Venuto
"Starting Strength" by Mark Rippetoe

You'll be hard pressed to make monstrous changes by February but you should be able to lean out a decent amount by then. Expect 1-2lbs per week in fat loss with your Venuto knowledge in hand.

I am telling you man with discipline and some serious P90X you could be right where you want to be by February. Your body would change drastically between now and then, you would be surprised. It has worked wonders for me...

I have a degree in health science studies and was a trainer during my baylor days. My advice?

Save your money, just get a gym partner to keep you honest and just regularly work out. You don't have to cut out everything from your diet, just watch your calories. start working out before you start cutting back on your calories. Don't over do it. The important part is that you do something. Start small and work your way up.

I wouldn't worry about supplements at all right now. You'll get plenty of protein from your diet. There's way too much bad information on supplements right now. It's like willy wonka land out there.
