Any y’all wearing fingernail “polish”?

I think I would rather wear a badge of honor . . . things like busting your fingers shows you do manly jobs.

Practically half the machinists and welders I know are missing some part of a finger.

You know when a doctor takes a paper clip, heats it in a Bunsen burner and uses it to burn a hole in the nail to allow the blood to escape and relieve the pressure, it's coded as surgery? I know from experience. Since then I've actually practiced medicine without a license (lol) a few times.

I remember as a kid of taking my pocket knife and continuing to turn the point on the nail until it "drilled" through to relieve the pressure.

I’ve had plenty of purple nails over the years.

The weirdest nail injury was when I smashed my finger at the nail bed. My nail grew out with a sunken groove in the middle of it.

I think it was like that for over a year then grew back out close to normal.

I’ve had that polish several times. It often happens at the most inconvenient time and the worst location.

I have taken to something lately that I never thought I’d do: use nail glue.

I’m on some meds that weaken my nails, despite taking supplements so my nails get brittle and break/rip/tear easier. If is too far back to cut it off, I’ll use the wife’s nail glue several times until it gets long enough to cut so that I don’t end up snagging it on everything.
