Atwoods gift card with purchase today

Not sure of the specifics, but I got a $20 gift card for spending more than $100 today (spent $160). I wish I knew this beforehand. I would have transacted differently to spend the card on a second purchase.

They also had a 3 Ton floor jack for $99, regularly $149.

They had them yesterday also. Surprised me when the cashier grabbed on and activated it and gave it to me.

Does anyone know if buying a gift card counts as the transaction?
