Having trouble thinking of a public school system that ISN'T broke, regardless of student immigration legality.
Interesting considering I know my property taxes go to schools, federal funds are given to schools, there are all these one and two cent bond payments added on for schools and the teachers complain they are paid so lowly. Where's it all going?
Vast majority goes to administration and pension obligations.
Kinda sounds like the government shouldn't be in education.

And they do. What's the complaint? Unfortunately no one read the fine print. 39.5 percent goes to colleges (institutes of higher education). 45 percent is doled out to the roughly 500 school districts in the rest of the state.

Oklahoma’s lottery revenue has reached new highs after a decision by lawmakers to increase the prize amounts offered.
The Oklahoma Lottery Commission recorded an all-time high of about $380.5 million in sales revenue, and about $87.6 million was reinvested in education in fiscal year 2023.
It is projected to have its second-best year in its history in budget year 2024 with $354.6 million in sales and $87.5 million for education. The fiscal year ended June 30, but external auditors are still completing records.
Jay Finks, executive director of the commission, said the lottery is run on a net-profit model.
Better start looking at the school board for your money. Those administrators are paid outrageously for the little work they do.

Patients pay the 7% State Question 788 excise tax when buying medical marijuana products at a
dispensary. In fiscal year 2023, the revenue was handled as proposed in SQ 788:
• It went first to OMMA’s authorized budget.
• Then, 75% of excess revenue was earmarked for education via the general fund, and 25% was
earmarked for drug and alcohol rehabilitation via the state Health Department.

Who said anything about covid. That doesn't discriminate with ages. Although younger people had a much easier time living through it.
