Picked up my Christmas gift today. Springfield XD Mod.3. It wasn't on my list, but for $313, I couldn't pass on it. It's my first SA firearm, although even when I first started buying guns 25 years ago, the XD series was on my short list, but I never got around to it due to the laws in MD and CA. One thing I have always noticed is that SA usually equips their pistols with pretty decent iron sights. I haven't shot it yet, but I like the irons so much that I have no intentions of putting an optic on it...although that could change.
