Update to the savage impulse.

I was needing a scope and was looking at what to get.
Well in my safe tucked in the back I found a bushnell 3-9x40 engage with lighted reticle scope.
Hmmmmmmm let’s see if I can find some rings
Sure enough on top of the safe behind ammo box’s and other items were 4 sets of rings

HA.

Sadly 2 sets must be low sets. The third set looks to be medium and I was able to get the scope mounted and my funky eye relief set.
I think it’s good to go.
Got it bore sighted.
It looks like a pretty decent set up I think it’s going to shoot great. If it does shoot well then I saved a few $$$$$

Now to decide on ammo


The joys of being a gun guy and having parts laying around lol.

Those look like weaver grand slam steel rings and by weaver definition they are high rings but I find them to be more like mediums myself.

So what is the difference between it and regular 22 mag?

.22WRF is to .22Mag as .38 Spl is to .357 and .44 Spl is to .44Mag

.22LR bullet is OUTSIDE the brass, whereas .22WRF is INSIDE the brass, like most every round.

Gill-gun 5rd flush fit box mags for only $23 ea. These are brand new reproductions and even those are typically hard to find.

All 3 fit and ran perfectly in 3 different rifles.

That over simplifies it IMHO, but you're not really wrong either.

Where did you find these? Only thing I've found are the ones with the green followers, which aren't so great. Looking for the SK-100 First Edition.

Recently picked up a Triple K mag for a Jimenez JA22. After futzing with it for an hour, I finally got it to barely work. (The pistol works fine with the oem mag btw.)

I'm not buying any more of their mags.

Also, side note.. who in their right mind would not only name a company Triple K, but also hasn't changed that name by now? I mean, the other organization with 3 K's in their name is nothing to aspire after....
