I saw a fellow with a Hesse that he was asking $1600 for. I was so tempted to go sell my rugrats to a sweat shop to ensure I'd have the funds to stick that in my Christmas stocking this year. It was hard, but somehow I found the strength to restrain.........

LOL - I saw at least three Century builds on tables, and ran across one rifle that IIRC was $650 or $750 with a Hesse receiver. Did see one DSA for a reasonable price, but outside of that most were too high for what they were.

I guess I need to pay closer attention to the hardware individuals are selling, as that's where the real deals are (except apparently in this case). I just wasn't in the market for any firearm this time, only supplies.

When I first read the title of this thread, I thought you were calling all FALs ugly. Fortunately, I was mistaken. I would stay away from the Hesse receivers, and the only Century items I would be interested in would be Imbel receivers (preferably not assembled by Century). I did not go to Wanenmacher's, and from the sounds of this thread and others, it appears I did not miss much.
