It would be for my AR. Looking for high value here, not cheap but inexpensive. Can it be done?
Nikon and Vortex both make pretty decent scopes in the $200 price range. What kind of scope are you looking for in terms of size, shape, power, features, etc.?
I wouldn't hesitate to put this on any AR.

3-9 would be nice.
You can get the P-223 3X9X40 for $125 on sale. I sold 2 new at Christmas time for $100.
they are nice little scope.
Weaver Kaspa scopes are also decent in the same general price range. One suggestion I'll make especially as regards scoping an AR is to look for one with a reasonable amount of eye relief; some good scopes have to be mounted so far to the rear as to interfere with operation of the charging handle, for instance.
I've got a Vortex Crossfire II 3-9 I paid less than $200 for. Of course, then you have to mount it, my P.E.P.R. mount was probably $80 or $90. But lots of decent options out there for under $200. Vortex, Bushnell and Nikon make plenty in this pricerange that are perfect for an AR. Just got back from the range sighting mine in at 100.
I've had great (better than expected) experience with the "inexpensive" Bushnell scopes.
