I like it, but I'd like it better if it took AK mags.. Out of curiosity what took you to surplus ammo rather than every bodies favorite PSA ?

I've used PSA before and I liked them. The AR in 7.62X39 above has a PSA lower and I also used parts from Model 1 Sales. I bought some Hi-Power magazines from Surplus Ammo when I bought my Tisas Hi-Power. They sold me these plain Jane, no name magazines for half what you would pay for Hi-Power mags any where else. It was then that I noticed that they have an extensive selection of AR parts and I liked what I saw. They have just a little bit of everything.

Does anyone know of a replacement front sight post for the Magpul MBUS pro? I like the sight but I need a front sight post that is thicker and preferably one that has some time of Tritium insert. It has to fit the MBUS PRO sight though. I was looking at the XS Standard Dot Tritium Front Sight Post or even the XS Big Dot. I just do not know if they will interchange with the sight post on the MBUS PRO sight. I bought a Blitzkrieg AR-15 Spike Front Sight Post - A2 Style (Luminescent Green Stripe) on eBay only to notice later in the description that it stated "Fits Magpul MBUS, but does not fit the new MBUS Pro." I'm not sure why but I need to know of one that will fit this sight.

Are you running a rifle buffer setup in that?

Carbine.

My first build was a simple A-2 carbine in 7.62X39. Relatively inexpensive, simple
and parts were just basic and cheap.

Is that a rifle gas length with a carbine buffer? The handguard looks longer than a carbine. Do you use steel case ammo in it?

No,only the handguards are rifle length. I have used steel cased ammo but I don't really care for it.

Well it's finally finished. Had a few snags and delays. It kinda' got put on the back burner for a bit. But now
it's ready for the range. Got a little time off coming so hopefully that can happen.

Nice! We'll have to get together and compare our comps. I just purchased a Kaw Valley Precision linear comp for my build. Pretty much the same thing as yours. As soon as my parts get here I'll have my build finished and range ready.

Your lower is just a sweet of a set up than the upper. Great frankenAR build, hope your happy with it for several thousands of rounds to come.
