I'd add that size makes a difference- As in a smaller light is in the way less than a larger light that occupies pretty much occupies the side of a hand guard. I have an Eagle TAC light on an AR, and while it's crazy bright and can light a coyote past 100yd, it eats up the front half of useable hand space on one side of the hand guard.

So, if your needs allow for shorter runtime and possibly less total light needed, a smaller light like the above mentioned Streamlight, would be an easy choice.

I use an El-Zetta ZFH1500 on my duty gun. http://www.elzetta.com/flashlight-mounts/ar15-m16-m4.html

It's incredibly light, ambidextrous and won't break the bank. It takes several flashlights, I use a Surefire polymer model, again extremely light. I have an extra (mount only) PM me if you want it, I'll trade you a box of bullets or something for it.
