I have collected some wood from a member here, it is Maple.
It is cut in smaller squares and bundled

Some squares some rectangular but very nice stuff for turning ink pens.

Yes it it and some of those checkerboard ones look pretty cool. End grain cutting boards.

You could make bottle openers and give as Christmas gifts! I actually made a few of these using the wood from Rockler and turned out pretty nice. Had a niece who worked as a bartender part time and she loved it!

Looked closer and 5/8" square might not be big enough for a bottle opener. Not sure about the rectangle pieces.

Not to step on Ops toes, but I've got an unlimited supply of Maple/White oak/Red oak scraps available for anyone who wants them for small projects. 1"x 2". Usually at least 12" long scrap cut offs. I've been sitting on a small supply of walnut and teak as well.
