Anyone been to a game yet?

My wife and I considered going to tonights game...Gold level seating is listed at $26 per ticket on their website but if you go to ticketmaster to get the tickets they are actually $44 each!

That's quite a difference. Not sure I'm up for nearly $50 a seat for mid-level seating at a minor league event.

I've got two good season tickets, SMS. If you friend me on FB, and are a current NRA member**, you will see that I post up to give lots of them away - already gave away 4 sets between up to now, and upcoming when I know I'll be hunting. They'll be a lot more, as I'm hunting a lot this fall.

**or SAF or GOA. 'RKBA Leeches' can suck it.

Oh yeah, these hockey games rock - these guys are good!

Minor league or not, dont confuse this with the crappy CHL. The deal with the Barons is that you are going to get a chance to see some NHL quality players and game play. For instance, many years ago, I was in Houston for a hockey tournament (I played for a city team when I was younger) and we went to a Houston Aeros game back when the league was the IHL. The goalie (Curtis Joseph aka CuJo for the St Louis Blues) for one of the teams was an NHL goalie that through some mishap had a contract problem and couldnt play for a season in the NHL.

If you are expecting the boxing matches on ice of the CHL, you will be disappointed. I cant even related the skill differences to you when comparing CHL to AHL. With increased skill comes less need for Goon Hockey.

KOMA does a lot of promos for them. Start listening to the sounds of the 60s and 70s man! Thats where the good music is anyway. ;)

The Barons' ticket rep just clarified the discrepancy....Ticketmaster was selling seats that showed up as "200 level" which is the "Gold" level, but the seats/rows in question are actually in the "Purple" VIP level.

Makes sense I guess.

You can enjoy a hockey game from any level. Down close to the ice, yeah you can see all the details. Up high, you get a good view of the entire game. I dont really remember how the Cox Center/Myriad is configured, but the mid level seats are the best IMHO... I think thats the 200s.
