Uhhh.. I think that story says "Critics INSULT Beck" [for submerging an Obama doll in a vile of urine]
That's not quite the same as stripping him of his first amendment rights now is it?
Of course Beck is a sensitive soul and you never know when insults from critics could make him cry like a little girl.
Maybe critics should go and insult somebody else. Beck has feeewings.

No, they love it. That's why they can call Glenn Beck worse than feces, and make paintings of a crucified Obama. And it is why Glenn Beck can do what he does on TV. This is just a cyclical argument.

I think you guys missed this part. (it is below the pretty picture)

However, what these outlets and social media users seem to be missing is that this action was taken to show hypocrisy among those who would condemn Beck over his Obama-centric art, yet support (or remain silent) when artwork disparaging Christ is created.

But it isn't hypocrisy to express your offense towards someone else. That's "freedom of speech". It's hypocritical to try to invoke such a response, then cry foul when people get pissed and make insulting comments about you.

Like, it isn't hypocritical to say "that offends me, but this doesn't." It is hypocritical to say someone expressing their freedom of speech is any different than anyone else's. Which it isn't. Whether you complain about Obama-Christ or Obama Pee Pee, you are still complaining within your rights.

I realized immediately that it was a parody of a "work" from a a couple decades ago called _Piss Christ_
That wasn't funny either, and people insulted it's "creator" too.
I'll have to go google his name.

Edit: Andres Serrano, 1987

Exactly and many of those on the right were saying the same as those on the left are now. While many on the left defended the work and claimed the those that complained were violating his 1st rights.

See it now?

The fact that someone on a web site insulted Beck for this stunt has zero to do with the first amendment. Read the first amendment. Show me where it says I can't insult someone for insulting someone else. No One (DUH...especially not the government) is even suggesting that Beck should be denied his first amendment rights.
