So six people potentially had advanced notice. One person was possibly a retired federal employee, maybe fbi. Disturbing but not the big waving red cape.
A lot of thought was put into this rule by the DOJ. I can't wait until the next whiz kid comes up with something earthshaking.

All the stupidity aside, article says one of the charges is UNREGISTERED AMMO. Huh? Did I miss something? Did they slip in a new law about registering ammo?

Well, it is the District of Columbia and federal government. I seem to think for some reason that "the government" has decided that certain crimes are felonies that in other jurisdictions would only be misdemeanors. I'm not certain, but I think that some of those arrested during the January 6 protest were charged with felony trespassing charges.
IF one was fool enough, how would you go about “ registering your ammo”? In theory, any type of registration is done at purchase. So if I had ammo from 10 years ago, how would I go about becoming legal? Maybe I need to fyle a freedom of information request to find out about this mysterious new law requiring ammo registration. And there must be one if a person can be charged with possession of unregistered ammo. Yes I’m being sarcastic, but this should scare the crap out of every member here and every citizen in the US.
