Barry offered to help me out with a few little projects and I took up my NIB full rail TRP operator. I had intentions of replacing the beavertail grip safety with a new EGW and him teaching me how to do it properly. I got up to his shop around noon, and after talking a little bit, we got to work. Come to find out, the factory cut on the TRP frame is not a .220 radius, and is a proprietary radius. We tried a .220 radius jig, and a wilson jig and both were to large to work on the Springfield, so no new grip safety. Started talking a little bit more about the gun, and decided to go ahead and replace all of the ignition parts with with quality stuff. Decided on a Cylinder & Slide ultra light set (hammer, disco, and sear). The sear needed a little work on the sides as the sear pin hole was not parallel with the frame. After he got the sear worked out, it was all smooth from then on out. Came out with a very nice trigger pull at 4.75 lbs. I really enjoyed the hands on learning and also some of the in depth teaching of the way everything works. Just wanted to send him out a thanks and let everyone know how good of a guy he is. Thanks Barry!
