Bird's Head Grip (Not Pistol Grip)

All arguments aside for the Pros and Cons of a pistol grip, is there anyone in the OKC area that has experience at reshaping a standard stock into a Bird's Head grip?

If you are going to go with a short grip everything points to a Birds Head style is the ONLY way to go. I have found Shockwave Technologies and Speedfeed both make a synthetic version, but I think wood would be much classier looking.

I'd be interested in this aswell thought about a DIY project a couple times but would rather have some one who know what their doing do it rather than fix it lol

I guess there is a "Science" of sorts to it. You don't just cut it. It needs to be "shaped". I found this picture showing 3 different options.




Obviously a simple band saw gets you close, but is there finish work and if it's a laminated stock is it a no go?

Firewire, the second photo in your original post is a laminted stock. There would be no reason why you couldn't technically do this to any wood stock.

much much more comfortable! those 90 degree grips hurt.
