There is a parking lot in BA at a vacant store that people, including myself, have been parking for sale vehicles as long as I can remember. I dont remember what it used to be, but it is at the corner of kenosha and 193rd behind pizza hut. I had a car up there today for sale and when I went to pick it up, there was a $99 parking ticket in the window. There were several cars there for sale, not sure if they had tickets or not, but it doesnt matter. I had no idea that it was illegal to park for sale vehicles unless it was posted. Anyway, just a heads up. Maybe somebody else didnt know that and I might save them some grief.

On a side note, since when have parking tickets been $99. Ive never had one, but I think they are $5 in Tulsa.

Broken Arrow passed a law about 5 years ago that made it illegal to sell a car from a parking lot. Retailers raised h e double hockey sticks because they were taking valuable customer parking. That building used to be WalMart before they moved it to 71st and 145th.

I had one in Tulsa back in 2002, and it was in the neighborhood of 20 bucks. 15 to 25 but honestly don't remember the exact amount. I am sure it's more now since that was 10 years ago.

This isn't helpful, but oh well. Just thought I would dispel the $5 idea.

There are lots of ordinances on the books that don't get regular enforcement for several reasons. I think Okc has a similar ordinance. Oklahoma City also has one that prohibits parking on the grass on your own front yard. They usually don't enforce it unless a neighbor complains.

It could be that the property changed owners and the new owners don't want their property looking like a car lot. Or, it may be a bored cop that dug the ordinance up while looking for something else and decided to enforce it to make his activity look good. Or, a political issue where a city councilman passed the word down and said that he wants his district "cleaned up" to make him look good.

This happens all the time. They let it go for a week or 2 and then they have more cars to ticket.
That lot at 71st and 193rd and also at 101st and Elm are revenue multipliers for the city.
It's been that way for several years.
