Am I mistaken or is part of the elbow broken? When I did sprinkler repair I was able to heat the elbow and get the glue to release enough to twist it off and then install a new elbow.
Yeah the elbow is broke. I could probably do this but it is a small area and it would be a pain to heat it up. I will just cut it off and put on a new elbow. I just hope I get the right size. I used my calipers and it said the pipe was 1.05 so I am assuming it’s 1”. And the elbow I believe was 1 1/4”.

For an air conditioner drain line, I wouldn’t glue it. Just push it on good. It will not leak, it will not come off by itself, and it will be removable if the line clogs with slime, as condensate line will do.
Do I still need to use that purple stuff? Sorry for the ignorance. Just never done anything like this before.

PVC schedule 40 tubing with an outside diameter of 1.05" is marketed and sold as 3/4". The elbow fits over the 3/4" tubing and will naturally measure larger on its outside diameter, but it, too, is 3/4".

IMO no, just twist it right on. As it is a drain line, there will be no pressure at all. As others have said, you may want to remove it at a later date to clean it out.

AND, something can bump it again, knock it off, and you can have the same mess you have today.

I would glue it, if it needs cleaned out you can blow air through it, I've never pulled one apart to clean it out.
