On the Briscoe Wednesday was slider day. I miss slider day. On the Thomas S. Gates the mess specialist sucked, couldn't even make bread. I'm not kidding, you could dip it in soup and it wouldn't soak it up!

STEEL BEACH Baby!!! Who threw the football overboard?

Come on, nobody remembers sending billy booter to fetch the mast crank when pulling out of San Dog???

Lurker66, that is a new one on me- I never knew the zeroes to insert themselves into the affairs of we Enlisted Men. That would have definitely jacked me up as well!

Never went to San Diego, but we did have our share of messin with the boots when on cruise. When I was in the Line Shack, we would always send one of our trainees on hunt for Prop Wash, Flight Line....ID10T forms....it was fun.

When on the beach, we would send guys to the AIMD shop on the base to check out a Hydraulic Pad Eye remover. Thats the one that a PO2 tried to pull on me while I was on a CAG5 Det....I was a fire watch and he was the OOD at the CAG5 office.....he tried to send me there to check that out....I was boggled, I had no clue what it was....so I called over to the AIMD office and asked about it....a female 3rd class laughed and told me that they were f'n with me...so she called over to the office and told the PO2 that he had to come and check it out because I didn't have the clearance....lol He was pissed that it backfired on him.
