Come on, nobody remembers sending billy booter to fetch the mast crank when pulling out of San Dog???

Lurker66, that is a new one on me- I never knew the zeroes to insert themselves into the affairs of we Enlisted Men. That would have definitely jacked me up as well!

I remember the mast crank, also sent one up to the bridge to request "permission to blow the 1LT" when we went under the bridge. Thing is, the person he asked was the 1LT. Towards the end of my time in, my buddy and I had been on the ship longer than anyone else on board. We kinda had our own "dirty deeds, done dirt cheap" business on the boat. We pranked the O's and the E's equally. We even got the Captain a few times. Usually got favors from the O's for jobs well done like duty days off, duty section swaps, etc.

How about sending a new guy out for some geedunk during an intruder alert. The ol i buy you fly trick.

Man I loved Intruder alerts, I was on the reaction team. Even in training I'd faceplant my buddies on the non-skid for "resisting", then hold them down with my knee across their neck. They'd get pissed, and I'd remind them "train like you fight, fight like you train".

On the Briscoe Wednesday was slider day. I miss slider day. On the Thomas S. Gates the mess specialist sucked, couldn't even make bread. I'm not kidding, you could dip it in soup and it wouldn't soak it up!
