The Republican view of property rights is that you effectively rent your land from the government (property tax) and you buy or sell the rights to that lease.
The Democrat view of property rights is very much the same, except that they tend to support more takings of property "for the greater good" as determined by the all-knowing government.

Is this any different than the US buying energy rights in Canada and other foreign companies?
For the record, I'm thinking aubry is selling this to save his company. They just about bellied up a couple of years ago, forcing him to sell his personal stock to keep afloat.
I'm pretty sure this is an effort to get his company back in the game.
