No way in heck. Not for a worn out gun with poor sights.
It would be a nice to own another piece of history.
the demand for these has killed my desire for them. if that makes any sense
I thought the good ones were going to auction.
Understood 100%...the whole process has been a royal PITA. All for a 10-20% shot at getting your number drawn.
Only the most valuable pieces...likely just the pistols with historical significance or that are collector's grade quality. Approximately 500 pistols were transferred from the Army museum system so I would assume that a number of those will probably end up going the auction route. A majority of the pistols have undergone rebuild (likely more than once) so they wouldn't be considered auction worthy.
I'm right there with you! I'd use the cash for another Garand first.
USPS tracking shows that my order packet arrived at the CMP mailroom this morning. Now the long wait begins....
Hope you get a good one Luke !
First he has to hope his order is one of those filled. I wonder how many orders will be submitted?
Hope your order is filled and you get a good one Luke! I'm just an old optimist I guess. LOL
