I'd get a service grade. All the M1's i've had were service grade.

I agree completely with Perplexed on this one. Buy some HXP and then buy some more.

we took a road trip east one year & dropped into the cmp, I was a compleat nubbie on m1's, the guys helped me out & picked up a rack grade that had a great bore & showed me how to ck the muzzle & throat, the stock was dinged up & the meatal was warn but it is a good shooter & that is all we wanted at the time.
the greek is good plinkin ammo, I use the brass to reload for the m1
