Whatever you do get a warranty on it - protect your investment....

just to throw this out there Dell has decent printers and solid warranty on them. Especially as some can be had with the advanced exchange which ships another unit out NBD in case of failure instead of repair.

I also want to stress, I am not affiliated with HP in anyway. I am an IT guy who has seen people try to save money with other brands of printers, and regret the decision later.

I second the HP recomendation. We have an old HP LJ-4000 that has been turning out documents for years. I bought a Minolta 3100 Color and the controller board died under warranty, it was replaced and worked just long enough for the warranty to expire. Now the network interface has a problem and it would cost around $900.00 to buy a new board.

I have it working using one of our networked computers and a parallel port but it really sucks to have to run a high dollar printer like that.
