Few pics from hunting cabin. Not poisonous but not a house pet either.

Copperheads are the snake that bother me the most. I think it's because they can be difficult to see. However, after battling rodents for several years and experiencing the damage they can do I don't kill any non poisonous snakes. Rat snakes are your friend.

Also, much of my property is very good copperhead environment. I have several king snakes and in 20 years haven't seen a single copperhead or rattlesnake.

I found a rather large snake skin from a black snake in our pantry last year. I about crapped my britches and knew I had to keep the discovery under wraps or the wife and daughters would've moved out and set fire to this house while i was still in it.
About 1 month ago I tore an old fiberglass shower out in my bathroom to replace fittings, drain and install a rain cloud shower head along with tile and tile seat. After getting the old shower out there was another snake skin and I told the guy doing the replacement work that this must have come from the same black snake that shed out last year. He took one look at it and said its no black snake. After googling and comparing its from a damn copperhead that's about 2 1/2 feet long. Still haven't let the shemales in on this bit of info. One more occurrence and I'm thinking 25 pounds of tannerite. MFer! WTH?

When I was little, my cousin caught a snake and put it in his pocket. He carried it around all day, taking it out several times. When our GrandPa got home, he showed it to him. It turn's out it was a baby Copperhead. To this day we have no idea why it did not bite him, or us for that matter. There were 5 of us and we all held it.

Wife knows that rhe only good snake is a dead snake. Similar to spiders.
This was my hard & fast rule until very recently. Finally decided I could endure Kingsnakes, simply because they (like myself) also kill snakes. :D

But sadly (and thanks to a snake-filled episode of "Wild America"), the last snake I killed was probably a young Kingsnake.

Sometimes ya just can't win... :drunk2:
