We have a family of hawks living in one of the pine trees, and they kill a snake once in a while. So I would recommend getting yourself some hawks. Unfortunately, what they mostly kill are the rat snakes.
They can also be kinda tough on yer chickens, kittens, puppies... :D

Actually saw a buzzard that had just caught a snake of some type once. It was still wriggling & struggling to get free. Probably a couple feet long or more (the snake, not the buzzard).

Copperheads are the snake that bother me the most. I think it's because they can be difficult to see.
Also, they're mean. My experience with them has been that they're more likely than most snakes to go on the offensive. The one I converted into a matched set of 18" and 6" copperheads made that mistake once. Also, after it struck at me (yes, a fat old man can jump about six feet backwards off his back foot when necessary), it made the mistake of heading toward the house instead of away from it.

The two pygmy rattlers I killed, on the other hand, only bought it because my Bark Bark of Remarkably Few Brains wouldn't leave them alone. One couldn't find its way off the back deck, and the other couldn't figure out how to turn tail and run, so we played a game of catch; the former caught a .22LR and the latter caught a pair of lineman's pliers. It was a shame, as they were both beautiful snakes with some brilliant purple coloring in their pattern, but the Bark Bark of Remarkably Few Brains is far more important to me.
