Cowboy Hats: Felt, or Straw?

If you buy a felt, buy at least a 10x. The more X's means the more beaver fiber it has in it. If you buy a 5x and wear it often, you will be buying another one in a couple of years. Up until about 8 yrs ago I wore a hat everyday, it was a Resistol Black Gold 20X. I bought it in 1990, it still looks great today.

What surber said. Buy the good beaver and buy it once. I have two work (Stetson) and one custom from Shorty. Straw; same. Work hat is the palm leaf in my avatar. Atwoods (not the tractor store) that I buy from Alpine Saddlery (Texas). Whitey Mac, I rebuke your sacreligious wordings! May you be sentenced to shooting HiPoints! Seriously, the people that go for the Bret Michael look secretly admire Justin Bieber...

I recommend the leather fold up hat. It's not really a cowboy hat, but it looks good.
