Good for grandpa... here is a link to a updated article with a little more info. Both robbers were armed with handguns. One was at the register, the other had a clerk. The manager alerted the customer to the robbery and he responded by shooting one of the robbers.
Their media showed more sense than News Channel 4... they didn't identify the man because one of the robbers was still at large and didn't want to endanger him or his family. The last several times a Oklahoman has shot a intruder.. News 4 not only identifed them by name, the station put up a map with a big red star identifying exactly where they lived.

I hate this about our media, it drives me nuts.
Shot him to death until he was dead.
Shoot until the target changes shape, IE goes from vertical to horizontal.
