Dang we have a bunch of cicadas this year

The only sight stranger than a cicada, is a chicken eating a cicada in one gulp.

My kids are stalking cicadas for the chickens - we're going to have some protein-rich eggs.

I use to kill these wasp, they are huge but can be knocked down with a ballcap. They don’t seem aggressive.

Its hard to believe and looks strange as the fly in and go underground with the cicada.

They never made good fish bait for me either.

I believe those are called cicada killers… pretty much harmless to people…

I have been finding their empties all over my place.

Walk outside and you can hear em.

I have had that sound in my ear non-stop for YEARS. Can't hear anything else.

They were our #1 BB gun target, 50-60 years ago. Took out a lot, don't think we hurt the populations.

Now, I throw them to the chickens. Along with June bugs, crickets, grasshoppers and anything else I catch.
