I need some clarification on the deer hunting regs.

Here's the problem:

I've got company coming in from out of town and will be arriving on Thursday of this week. They have purchased Non-Resident archery tags to deer hunt during the time they are here and are 100% legal according to the regs.

Question: Do they have to wait until the deer rifle season is over before they can hunt using their archery equipment or can they hunt immediately using their archery equipment as long as they wear orange.?

I've read the regs and the archery season runs from Oct. 1- Jan. 15 with no breaks. I would take that to mean that I can hunt deer with an archery tag that entire time and be legal, no matter what else is going on,..like deer gun season, as long as I use my archery equipment.

Is my thinking correct..?

Pg 20 in regs. You can archery hunt in gun season, and "follow other regulations to participate in those seasons." (e.g., hunter orange as specified in that paragraph in the middle of the page)

It used to be that there was a break in the archery season for gun season, anyone remember when they did that.?

During that break (gun season) any deer taken had to be tagged with a gun tag, regardless of how the animal was taken, either with a gun, muzzleloader or bow.

I was confused as to whether they did away with that rule. That was my only concern. I didn't want my uncle to shoot one with archery equip. and have to tag it with a rifle tag.

Thanks for the replies.
