Went out this morning and holy crap, the deer were active! I stopped counting at 13 doe and fawns, 4 forks/6 pt, 2 spikes, 3 - 8pts. One of the 8 pts is a big fat cull that we want to get rid of, so hopefully one of the girls get him next weekend.
Watched 2 of the 8 pts have two different bar room brawls about 30 mins apart. Saw a doe squat in a scrape, followed soon by one of the 8 pts checking the scrape, freshen it up, lick the branch and finally search that doe down and chase her all over Gods creation.
I wasn’t planning on sitting the entire morning but I had deer within 50 yards of me non-stop from daylight until 11:00, at which time the final 2 doe in the field decided to bed in the field less than 80 yds straight in front of my stand, facing me. I finally started grunting at them, trying to scare them off without alerting them to my stand. Figured either they would leave, or a buck would come in. Finally, one of the 6 pts came to check things out and ended up chasing them off for me. Finally got down and to the truck to leave at noon.

Sounds like a great morning undeg. I’ve got a couple of my 8’s sparring pretty hard on camera.
I'll start with my daughter's birthday hunt now I know I can post pics directly. Last Wed. Was my daughter's 10th birthday, so we let her play hooky and go deer hunting. She got a doe early morning. Retrieving it was when we discovered the hog trapper hunting our place.

I sure hope someone’s in the stand this evening, because the deer are on the move (at least at my place) in the cool weather. Down to 36 right now on the river.
