Thanks! I just got in from searching. Found her doe, which she shot after the buck. 300 BLK, 125 gr Nosler through the heart and the doe still ran 80 yds and ended up in the flooded creek.

Found blood from the buck and trailed him until he crossed the creek. Going back in the morning to keep searching.

No luck. Had a guy bring a blood hound out and we trailed the deer a lot further, finding sporadic blood. The blood finally ran out and lost the trail. After 4 hrs of tracking today, we finally threw in the towel. The guy with the dog said he thinks she hit him high and the bullet didn’t bust the bone or hit anything vital. He said in his experience on trails like that, the buck survives and shows back up after a week or so.

Just so everyone understands my frustration, this is the one she hit.

Dang it!!! That’s a great buck! I hate that for y’all, but it’s part of hunting.
