When the truck in the other lane put on his brakes, I would have been on high alert, and likely applied my brakes as well. Truck drivers don't just slam on their brakes for no reason. Of course, I've driven for a living for most of 2 decades.

I still would have been in the accident, but I'd have been going considerably slower at the point of impact.
