I’ve been several times, mostly for work, and a time or two for fun. I’m not a gambler, though the people watching is…interesting. If I never go back, I’ll be ok with that.
We are the same. We went to Vegas many years ago with a paid trip for a wedding. Gambled $20 a day which went quick and then went to people watching which was much more interesting to us.
A Classmate was the Chief of Police there for several years before retiring and kept asking us to come out to show us the real Vegas at class reunions, but we never made it. He's been retired for years.
This thread had me talking to the wife about traveling out there as we have some flight credits that would basically pay for it and see how much it's changed since the 90's.

Be prepared for an entirely different experience, and not necessarily in a good way. As far as people watching goes, it's probably as good as it's ever been if you want to see 'People of Wal-Mart' on steroids.

Got married there in a drive thru and went to an Eagles concert. Should have just gone to the concert. Speaking of which, am really wanting to go see them at The Sphere but need a girlfriend who wants to go.
The wedding we went to was at some little chapel with a line to get married. The couple before the couple we were witnessing were wearing Micky Mouse ear hats and matching tan shorts. We didn't hold out much hope for the success of that marriage.
Fast forward to about 8 or so years ago, one of the wife's co-workers decided to marry a much younger guy with it to happen in Vegas. They got married, and before the weekend was over, the wedding pics where shredded and they took separate flights home.

I'm sure it's changed as has the world, but that place is a people watchers paradise as it was back in the day.
Another interesting thing we found during our one and only trip out there was a guy in Cesars coming up to me and saying do I know you?
He did. He was a counter guy at Heatwave Controls in Ponca where we did business.
He worked as a breakfast busboy at Cesars. His mom proceeded him in employment at the same place as a waitress. She had to pay $25,000 dollars to the restaurant manager to get her job with no guarantee she wouldn't be fired the next day. She made a year and our guy went there with $10,000 to be hired as a busboy.
He took us around town going into the employee back doors to see the high roller locations where the normal public can't go. We went into one casino where baccarat was being played for a million dollars a round in a small room. Heavily armed guards were stationed everywhere.
There is a lot more to Vegas that the normal public never gets to see.
