Seeing quite a few birds on this mornings scout it's time to start thinking about dove season.

I usually wait til a week or less before to make any solid plans. A good rain, harvest, cold front, or a farmer working a field can change things dramatically. If I see a good prospective field, I may research for land owner and keep an eye on it. Close to season if it has birds, try and get permission. I have had good luck getting permission for dove season, especially when I assure them I will pick up all of my hulls.
