I don't want to hear anyone say "I don't like either candidate, so I'm not voting at all". Whether you vote or not, SOMEONE is going to get elected. You need to take 1 hour out of your YEAR and get your butt to the polls. It's a B$ excuse to not vote - you owe it to all the men and women that provided this freedom to you. It makes me want to puke when only 25% (if it's a good year) get off their arse and vote. Shameful and pathetic. :censored: People not voting is part of the reason why we are in the crap that we are in today - don't be a part of the silent majority - VOTE!

Well said and for the record I already voted. The absentee ballot is great for those of us on a weird schedule. Looking forward to see Obama's cronies get a butt whopping of Biblical proportions.

Not being a smartarse, but what do you hope to achieve/prove by doing this? Just an open discussion, not taking too much of a shot at you. ;) Just wondering what the thought behind it is?

Mostly its because I absolutely will not vote for Askins, and I just really can't stomach Fallin. She's a sellout IMO. i can't forget the fact that she voted for the bailout and therefore did not have the courage to stand up for principle. The fact she did that demonstrates to me that she will cave under pressure and not show the leadership that this state will need in the near future. People who will stand firmly on principle will be crucial as some states begin to fight against a burgeoning federal government and she has demonstrated that she lacks that ability.

By the same token, if I vote for her, given my opposition to her based on my own principles, then I effectively am a hypocrite for requiring of her the very thing which I would lack via my action of voting for her and "caving" just because she is the lesser of two evils or, as I like to say "sucks less"

Both parties know that most people will hold their nose and eventually vote for one candidate or the other. THey therefore have no real incentive to run candidates too far out of their own ideological comfort zone. The only way to break that is to convince them that if they don't put up the right candidates, then they may well lose the election on that candidate due to lack of voter interest on that side.

I hope that explains somewhat why I am considering voting tomorrow, but not for the governor's office specifically.

I understand your position. However, those that wait for the perfect candidate, will never vote until JC comes back. :D As it was with McCain, I couldn't NOT vote for him based on several positions of his that conflict with mine, but because I felt he would do a better job (or cause less harm, if you will) then BHO. We have to look at the overall package, as opposed to focusing on one or two issues. It sucks, but that is the world we live in.

Assuming a Republican landslide, I think it would really be funny if come 2012 there is a Democratic landslide. Given the relatively short attention span of the American voter and the way they are so easily swayed by sound bites, rather than substance, I don't think it is an impossible scenario,

I get really tired of hearing of Brogdon and people wanting change only 7% of oklahomans even voted in the primary election, so I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say that if you didn't vote don't even bother talking or complaining about the gubment. 7% is the most pathetic turn out I've ever heard of.

I understand that. I try not to let perfect be the enemy of "pretty darn good" but I really just can't stomach either of them. Brogdon was the guy I was pulling for but c'est la vie. However, I'm not waiting for the perfect candidate either. There are several tea party candidates running in other parts of the country that I would love to have the opportunity to vote for who are by no means perfect, but I ideologically agree with on 95%+ of the issues. Sadly, that just doesn't seem to be in the cards this time around.

If the Dems and Repubs in OK have one thing figured out, it's how to protect their turf! :(

If not for this, Obama would not be in the WH.

I voted early because I had to change my address on my voter registration card. I was pulling for Brogden in the primaries, Since he didn't make it I voted for Fallin, What other choice was there? Say a prayer, vote, then say another prayer! But if you don't vote then keep your comments to yourself!

I was talking to a guy a few days ago and he was going on about how he hopes that some candidates don't get elected, I said then go vote and he said he couldn't so I am thinking he is a felon. So I asking him why he can't vote and he said that he isn't registered and never will this guy is like 40 and I have heard him bitching about the government a bunch and he doesn't even vote he is a mega douche. Out of the 14 people I work with myself and 1 other guy are registered to vote it really just burns me that people can't get off their rumps and go vote then turn around and cry about how they don't like the way things are going.
