I don't want to hear anyone say "I don't like either candidate, so I'm not voting at all". Whether you vote or not, SOMEONE is going to get elected. You need to take 1 hour out of your YEAR and get your butt to the polls. It's a B$ excuse to not vote - you owe it to all the men and women that provided this freedom to you. It makes me want to puke when only 25% (if it's a good year) get off their arse and vote. Shameful and pathetic. :censored: People not voting is part of the reason why we are in the crap that we are in today - don't be a part of the silent majority - VOTE!

I disagree a bit. If people are uninformed or ill-informed I would rather they not vote. I kinda like the more difficult it is to vote because it will weed out the lazy people who don't pay attention anyways.

The only way this would work, is if there was an option of "X None of the above". They don't do any analysis to see if people voted for everything, except for Governor. All they do, is say that the voter must have mis-marked their Governor ballot, and the machine skipped it. No human ever sees the ballot, except in the case of a manual recount. There is no way to make a statement on the ballot, at this time, since they are machine scored.

Trust me, guys, I know where you're coming from. I wasn't exactly fired up to vote for McCain. However, nobody will ever convince me that our country is better off with BHO instead of McCain.

If they added a third option, "none of the above" would win every time.

We Rs screwed up when we passed on Brogdon. I think he should challenge Fallin after her first term (supposing she wins) as people will likely be tired of her BS.

Mostly its because I absolutely will not vote for Askins, and I just really can't stomach Fallin. She's a sellout IMO. i can't forget the fact that she voted for the bailout and therefore did not have the courage to stand up for principle. The fact she did that demonstrates to me that she will cave under pressure and not show the leadership that this state will need in the near future. People who will stand firmly on principle will be crucial as some states begin to fight against a burgeoning federal government and she has demonstrated that she lacks that ability.

By the same token, if I vote for her, given my opposition to her based on my own principles, then I effectively am a hypocrite for requiring of her the very thing which I would lack via my action of voting for her and "caving" just because she is the lesser of two evils or, as I like to say "sucks less"

Both parties know that most people will hold their nose and eventually vote for one candidate or the other. THey therefore have no real incentive to run candidates too far out of their own ideological comfort zone. The only way to break that is to convince them that if they don't put up the right candidates, then they may well lose the election on that candidate due to lack of voter interest on that side.

I hope that explains somewhat why I am considering voting tomorrow, but not for the governor's office specifically.

I agree with you 100% but Askins would not only fold to the feds, she would actively work with the feds. At least Fallin would be a paper tiger against the feds. Geez, these candidates suck don't they?

I'm not lazy in politics. I'm just lazy at driving. Chances are, I know more than 90% of the voters out there. And on this site, I would guarantee we are all pretty savvy on the issues. (there may be a small handful on here, but the majority seems to be pretty with it).

I get really tired of hearing of Brogdon and people wanting change only 7% of oklahomans even voted in the primary election, so I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say that if you didn't vote don't even bother talking or complaining about the gubment. 7% is the most pathetic turn out I've ever heard of.

It was a primary. This primary had a higher turnout than previous primaries.

Primaries tend to only attract those who closely follow politics.
