Beside ‘philosophical understanding’ and ‘emotional pining’ the most damaging difference today is that while conservatives continue to cast strategic votes for the lesser-of-two-evils, they fully understand that the Republican Party and its politicians also bow to corruption of the spirit and the political process. Liberals on the other hand appear to believe absolutely in the altruism of their ‘hero-party’ and politicians. The only wrong the Democrat Party and her politicians can do in the eyes of liberals is to not go far enough nor fast enough.
