I have no idea about the Chevrolet's light switch, but maybe it has the same features as the switch on our Ford Expedition.

The single circle to the left is "Off," while the emblem next to it is for the front and rear marker lights. The third emblem is for "headlights on," and the last one is for "automatic operation," which turns the lights on when it gets dark enough and dims automatically. If I use the "headlights on" setting, I can manually operate the dimmer with the turn signal lever. Also, if it happens to be in "automatic operation," I can override the automatic dimming and just use the turn lever.
Yes my 2018 Colorado had automatic on/off headlights and they worked perfectly. This one has automatic headlights and they work well too. What sucks are the automatic hi-beams. They flicker on and off a lot and confuse other drivers. There’s nothing I’ve found yet in the menus or on their website for how to disable them permanently. You’d think it would be in the “lighting” section but it’s not. That would make too much sense.

There’s a button on the turn signal stalk but it doesn’t work unless the headlights are on and you’re driving, which I forget until they’re already going nuts. :rolleyes2

Here's one that hit home in a strange way.

Do you remember those 50's-60's station wagons,,,
Where the rear seat faced backwards?

My Mom drove a 57 Dodge wagon with that feature,,,
We kids absolutely loved it for some reason.

Anyways, just yesterday I was coming home from Stillwater,,,
There is a 9-mile stretch of 2-lane county highway,,,
Very hilly and difficult to pass someone on.

I got stuck behind one of those old station wagons,,,
With three young kids making faces at me,,,
And flipping me off the whole time.

When the Dad pulled into the mini-mart at my towns edge,,,
I was sorely tempted to pull in and give the man a piece of my mind.

Then my better sense took ahold of me,,,
And I just drove on by without stopping to berate the guy.

It was very annoying but that's all it was,,,
I could easily have slowed a bit and let someone pass me,,,
Thereby putting someone else's face in the path of those rude children.

I actually pulled into the P.O. parking lot,,,
And did my personal calming mantra.

As I sat there de-stressing,,,
I wondered if I did the same to drivers back then?

I honestly don't remember,,,
Since I'm positive I was an absolute angel of a child,,,
I can't possibly imagine myself being as rude and disrespectful as they were.

But one thing I do know for absolute certain,,,
The designer who came up with those backwards seats should be horse-whipped!
