Can't help you with a light but can tell you the digital night scopes are picky about fog, misty nights. I'm talking about the sightmark photon. Plus tree branches, grass clumps will just about blind you with the IR . They work really good on moonlit nights. About 200 yards is max with the onboard IR and still make out what the animal is if it is a large animal. Cattle can be seen farther out.

I never did get a chance to get out and test any of these recommendations . . . and as you can see they're still around.
